Plastic Skies
Evelyn L.
Behind hard clouds, a single star
From fractured grey, golden beams spill.
A crack in plastic skies.
A ray of sun.
The star drinks in her light.
Following in her mentor’s steps.
The heavens above become a sunlit space.
The sun sets sail,
Traveling across orange horizons.
The lone star rises,
Seen between twilight hours and twinkling lights,
And shatters the plastic skies.
