Lego Theme Challenges
Every morning at INKspire begins
with building creativity.
We give campers a bag of Legos and a "build theme" as they arrive. Let the creative FUN begin!
Stories — Read Alouds — Listening Skills
Learning the art of listening is a FUN part of camp. Society emphasizes behavior (eyes forward, sit up) as listening, but we show how listening is a cognitive skill -- what goes on between the ears.
The world is full of wonderful stories to share.

Our Camp Song
Every year, campers learn a new camp song written as a parody of a FUN catchy tune. This year we loved singing "ooga chaka" and "I-I-I'm hooked on my writing. Words so exciting. Revision is the key." Singing upbeat songs in the morning boosts happiness.
Marketing Teams
Building teamwork is essential. Campers have smaller teams to develop their own marketing pitches complete with skits, slogans, and jingles. Topics range from local events to historical figures. Campers have fact sheets to kickstart their FUN ideas.

Guest Speakers
Guest speakers are always FUN.
Every year, three speakers come to camp and share their passions and creativity and lifelong love of learning. Past guest speakers have ranged from poets to reptile experts to magicians--and more!
Thank You Letters
We share our love of being grateful by teaching a special technique that makes writing a strong thank you letter more FUN. This T.H.A.N.K.S. format was developed by our camp director Mizz JJ. Every guest speaker receives thank you letters.

Presentations
Campers develop self-confidence by team presentations of their marketing plans. Often teams make signs and other artwork to show off their FUN plans.
Food
Food is FUN, so we have a snack break in the morning and a snack break in the afternoon. Campers also enjoy lunch break as a time to chat with friends and get to know staff better. Each staff member sits at a camper table.

Art
Campers also learn how to paint a famous masterpiece on canvas. In 2026, we recreated The Sleeping Gypsy by Henri Rousseau. We use speciality techniques to help campers finish their work in four camp days with maximum FUN.
Creative Writing & Pulitzer Prize Cards
Campers decorate their creative writing folders with their current passions and future dreams. Every summer, we design three new separate tracks that emphasize different poetic forms. Poetry is a perfect way to grow enthusiasm for the craft of writing. Poetic techniques can successfully be transferred into any type of writing or creative project--a surefire way to help ideas leap off a page. We help campers stay organized with a product we designed that we call the Pulitzer Prize card. We think of the card as a way to combine creativity and productivity, and of course, FUN.

T-Shirts
Every year INKspire creates a FUN t-shirt design that says on the back "I'm A Published Author." That's because our online section called INKthology shares the poetic greatness of our campers. Thanks to Central Bank and Market President Cameron Abney (Madison & Clark counties) for providing the shirts.

Recreation
Games always add energy and FUN to our recreation breaks.

Family Feud
INKspire holds a FUN tradition of trivia competition on the last day of camp. All ages are divided into teams to answer questions that come from guest speakers and other camp materials. Ah, the listening skills pay off!
Friendships
INKspire is a place where everyone is welcome and no one is left out! Campers connect with each other during FUN creative experiences.

Closing Program
During Friday's FUN closing program, campers may choose to read their poetry on stage in front of their families. Awards are given to campers for exceptional writing, art, and thank you letters. Campers and families sing the camp song one last time. We close with a recitation of Robert Frost's "Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening" — for truly our campers have miles to go before they sleep. Every step of camp is FUN!
